Static contact card or dynamic link?
| Static vCard code | Dynamic link code | |
|---|---|---|
| What happens on scan | The phone offers to save your contact | The phone opens a page you choose |
| Change after printing | No | Yes |
| Works offline | Yes | Needs a connection |
| Cost | Free | From $19 once for 3 |
If you change jobs, phone numbers or websites, a static card goes out of date. A dynamic code can point to your current profile page, so the cards in people’s wallets stay useful.
Design tips
- Keep vCards short. Every field makes the code denser and harder to scan at card size. Name, phone, email and website are usually enough.
- Print at least 2 cm across, with a clear margin.
- Use dark on light. Reversed (light on dark) codes don’t scan on some phones.
- Check the scan result. Our generator decodes the code at several sizes and warns you if it’s risky.
