Custom domains come with the Business pack (1 domain) and the Agency pack (5 domains). You can add more for $19 / £15 / €17 each, once.
Step 1: add the domain
In the dashboard, go to Domains → Add domain and enter your subdomain, for example qr.yourshop.com. You can have up to 2 domains waiting for setup at a time.
Step 2: create the CNAME record
The dashboard shows a record like this:
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| CNAME | qr.yourshop.com | t-abc123.cname.sfqr.link |
Add it at your DNS provider (often your domain registrar). Some providers want only the first part in the Name field (qr), and add your domain themselves.
Step 3: wait for the check
We check your record every 5 minutes, and you can choose Check now once a minute. The domain status page shows what we see: whether the CNAME is in place, whether a CAA record exists, and the certificate state. We email you when the domain is live.
Fixing a CAA record
A CAA record tells certificate authorities who may issue certificates for your domain. If your domain has CAA records that don’t include Amazon, the certificate can’t be issued, and the dashboard tells you so.
Fix it by adding this record to your domain (or to the subdomain):
yourshop.com. CAA 0 issue "amazon.com"
Keep your existing CAA records; this one is added alongside them. If you have no CAA records at all, you don’t need to do anything.
If you remove the CNAME later
Codes on that domain stop resolving through us, and we email you. We keep your setup for 90 days so you can restore the record. Certificate renewal also needs the record in place, so restore it promptly.
Releasing a domain (the escape hatch)
If you want to serve your codes yourself, go to Domain → Release and retype the hostname to confirm. Codes on it then stop resolving through StandfastQR, and you point the CNAME at your own server with your export. The domain slot isn’t refunded. See exporting and the escape hatch.
