How it works
Buy Business or Agency. Business includes one custom domain and Agency includes five.
Add your subdomain in the dashboard, for example qr.yourshop.com.
Add one CNAME record at your DNS provider. The dashboard shows the exact value and checks it for you.
Go live. Once the record is in place, we issue the certificate, usually within minutes, and email you when the domain is live.
The escape hatch
Codes on your own domain are the strongest form of our promise. If you ever want to leave, or if we stop trading, you:
download your export in the standfast format;
run our open-source redirector, or use the nginx or _redirects export;
point your CNAME at it.
Every printed code then keeps working, with no change to the printed image. We publish the redirector so that this never depends on our goodwill.
What other services charge
On their published pricing, checked on 27 Oct 2026, Uniqode offers a custom domain as an add-on of $2,000 per domain on its Plus plan, and Hovercode includes one from its Pro plan at $12 a month. See Uniqode and Hovercode for sources.
Frequently asked questions
Why put QR codes on my own domain?
The domain is printed into every code. If it’s yours, you control where it points, so the printed codes don’t depend on any one provider, including us. Scanners also see a web address they recognise.
What do I need to set up?
One DNS record. You add a CNAME from a subdomain such as qr.yourshop.com to the target the dashboard shows you. We issue and renew the HTTPS certificate automatically. See setting up a custom domain.
Can I use my main domain, like yourshop.com?
No, we support subdomains only, such as qr.yourshop.com or go.yourshop.com. Your main website stays exactly where it is.
What happens to my codes if I leave StandfastQR?
Release the domain in the dashboard, download your export, and point the CNAME at your own server or a static host. Our free, open-source redirector serves the export with the same rules, so every printed code keeps working. See exporting and the escape hatch.
How much does a custom domain cost?
One domain is included with Business ($49 once) and five with Agency ($129 once). An extra domain is $19 / £15 / €17, once. There is no yearly fee.
